Your notes stay yours

On the iPhone Duo and on an iPad, Duri shows a two‑page spread with the spine down the middle, as a book lies on a table. A comic's double page runs across both. Close the phone and it is one page again, at the same sentence.

Two books at once
On an iPad or the open Duo, a book’s page offers “Read alongside another book”: a novel beside its translation, a text beside its commentary, each with its own place, and going to a chapter on one side takes the other there too. For books with reflowing text, not PDFs.
Listening
A voice that lives in the app, not in the cloud.
Most readers borrow the phone's built-in voices, or send your book to a server to be spoken. Duri carries a voice of its own, run on the device. It breathes at paragraphs, pauses after a heading, and sounds like someone reading to you.

Every format you own
EPUB, PDF and scanned PDF, CBZ and CBR comics, plain text, Markdown and articles saved from the web. Books locked to another store cannot be opened, and Duri says so rather than pretending.
Scans that read themselves
A scanned PDF's words are recognised on your phone, so you can search it, highlight it and have it read aloud. Photograph pages with the camera and they become a PDF in the library.

A little help, on the device
On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, swipe a chapter to have it recapped, or select a passage and ask what it means; your notes get the system's Writing Tools; Siri can open a book and read it aloud. It all runs on the phone, it can be wrong and says so, and one switch turns it off. On other iPhones it simply isn't there.
Your place, everywhere
With Pro, your library list, places, bookmarks, highlights and notes sync through your own iCloud, and the books themselves if you choose. Nothing passes through us.

Privacy
Nothing leaves your device.
No account. No analytics. No servers. Duri does not know who you are or what you read. Reading aloud, recognising scans and summaries all happen on the device. Sync, if you want it, goes through your own iCloud and nowhere else.

Things people ask.
Can Duri open my Kindle, Apple Books or Kobo books?
No. Books bought there are locked to those apps, and no other reader can open them. Duri opens the files you own: EPUB, PDF, CBZ, text and Markdown.
How do I get books in?
Tap + in the library: from Files or iCloud Drive, from another app's Share menu ("Open in Duri"), from your computer over Wi‑Fi, from a catalogue, by pasting a link to an article, or by scanning pages with the camera.
What voice reads aloud?
Duri's own, built into the app and run on your device. Four voices to choose from, in thirty‑one languages. For a language it does not speak, the system's voices read instead.
Does anything leave my device?
Nothing, unless you turn on iCloud sync, which uses your own iCloud. Duri has no account of its own, no analytics and no servers.
What does Duri Pro add?
Unlimited listening, iCloud sync, ten more themes and five accents, your own fonts, quote cards and PDF export of notes. It is one purchase, once, and Family Sharing is on.
Does Duri use AI?
Only Apple's, and only on the device. On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, Duri can recap a chapter, explain a passage you select, offer Writing Tools in your notes and take Siri's requests. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored as if you wrote it, a recap says plainly that the device made it, and Settings has one switch that turns all of it off. On an iPhone without Apple Intelligence these features do not appear.
